  • Comments: A delight to run into a colony of pussytoes in the woods or on a road side. This species is easy to recognize by its color and Plantain-like leaves, and if in flower, flower heads that look like a clasped cat's paw. Usually seen in dry to average soil and in part shade; do not know the limits of where it does well.

    Dioecious plants that spread slowly by stolons. Need both male and female plants for seed set. Some colonies have only male plants.
