Many of the species of Solidago, the Goldenrods, have been moved into the genus Oligoneuron, the Priarie-goldenrods, which has created lots of confusion and challanges to devise appropriate common names. This species has been in both the genus Aster and Solidago. Hope it has finally found its true home! Goldenrods are no more allergenic than any other plants. The culprit is ragweed, with its insignificant flowers and similar flowering time. Goldenrods just get the bad press. Image by Wayne Hughes ©SparkleberrySprings.com USDA-OLAL2 Profile
